Does Hookah Size Matter?

Recently I’ve been hearing a lot of people claim that the size of a hookah makes all the difference to how well that hookah will smoke. Some people think that the bigger the better while others think it really doesn’t matter and that it’s all in hookah maintenance and other aspects of hookah care. I have found that the size of a hookah does make some difference but for the most paart it’s truly a combination of things.

Ive seen all kinds of hookahs, from ones that are a mere 6 inches high all the way up to ones that were somewhere around 7 feet tall and mush have weighed close to 100 pounds without having any water in them. I personally don’t think either of those are worth smoking out of. With hookahs rather than there being a exact size to go on there’s really more of a range of sizes that in my opinion produce the optimal smoke. The best sizes I’ve found go from about 20 inches to about 36 inches. I’m certainly not saying that hookahs that are larger or smaller than that shouldn’t be smoked but just that some of them might need to be watched more carefully.

What I mean by watched more carefully is that with a smaller hookah the base tends to not hold as much smoke obviously. so they tend to get harsh more quickly. Larger hookahs have the opposite effect and the bases may not quite fill up to the smokers expectations and the smoke produced can be thin and not as pleasing.

As I said before size doesn’t make all the difference. Many people enjoy a larger hookah while some like one that’s more portable. There is a lot to take into consideration when choosing a hookah that you want to smoke from and keeping a well maintained hookah is extremely helpful as well. Happy smoking everyone!
