Hello, folks, Paul here once again with another review for you. This one is for Nakhla Orange shisha. I’m a big fan of Nakhla tobacco. I think that even though it’s one of the most popular brands on the planet, I don’t think it gets enough credit. I find it to be a nice balance between modern-style tobaccos and very classic style. This is definitely a more robust smoke than many people are used to. It has high nicotine content. I mean, it’s not quite as strong as something like Tangiers Noir but it will definitely give you a bit of a buzz and it will definitely give you a kick, especially if you push the heat.
I’m smoking this one on an old-style Tangiers small, which you saw in the packing portion of this video, which is a fairly large bowl, and I have three Coco Mazayas and one and a half Coco Naras split into smaller pieces, so I’m pushing this one quite hard, but Nakhla has pretty good heat-resistance and actually gives you really good clouds if you know how to manage that heat.
Now, the flavor. The flavor is interesting. It is not a candied orange by any means. It’s sweet, but it is what I would consider a dry citrus flavor. It doesn’t leave a, like, sacchariny, sugary note in the mouth; it very much has a drying effect on the tongue. It tastes not of orange juice, not of orange candy or orange soda or anything like that. More than anything, I get a kind of piffy, oily kind of essential orange oil flavor that I really love.
If you like the flavor of real oranges, this is one of the best options on the market. It’s honestly not my favorite Nakhla Orange flavor. That title is reserved for Nakhla Mandarin, which is one the best citrus flavors, in my opinion. But this is pretty high up there. If I were to choose some of my top favorite citrus flavors, this is very much in the top five.
