Continuing my experiments with OxiClean style cleaners I took my oldest bowl with years of crud stuck to it and gave the dunk. What do you think happened? Eww. I used the same method for…
The proper way to smoke Tangiers tobacco has been a hot topic of debate since it was first introduced. Some smokers handle it like unstable uranium and smoke this tobacco with a degree of ritual…
The beauty of a well made glass bowl is something to behold, but it doesn’t last forever as gunk builds up inside these little pieces of art. It doesn’t affect the flavor and you don’t…
Time for another introductory class on the hookah. Today we are going to take all the bits and pieces we listed last time and put them together into a functioning rig. From the base to the…
I have a problem with leaving tobacco on my shelf for too long and letting it dry out. If I had a normal collection it wouldn’t be a problem but the sheer number of flavors…
https://www.youtube.com/embed/fY6wUKFR_pU I’m constantly asked for advice on burnt bowls, wispy smoke, harsh sessions and lacking flavor. The answer I give is almost universally, “check your heat management”. That seems like a vague answer because there are…

It should be pretty obvious that cleaning your hookah is important. If you don’t clean your hookah regularly the stale and nasty flavor of past sessions can taint the current smoke and really mess up…
This one smelled like candied strawberry and strawberry preserves. The flavor is like those old style strawberry candies that had liquid candy in the middle. It’s pretty good especially for a strawberry flavor.
Smells like grenadine that has been watered down. This makes sense considering that grenadine is pomegranate flavored and heavily sweetened. It tastes like a sweet pomegranate but candy rather than natural.
Smells like Artificial watermelon and tastes pretty much the same. It’s a candy flavor without doubt. It is strongly flavored as well. It’s like a cross between watermelon bubble gum and a watermelon jolly rancher.
Smells like orange skins and artificial oranges. The flavor is similar but sweeter. I would not say that this tasted like orange juice or the flesh of an orange but it was tasty and citrusy.
Smells like mint. No big surprises there. It tastes like a good, sweet and smooth mint flavor. It’s slightly artificial and does not taste like chewing on a plant in the mint family but it is damn good.
Smells like cough syrup, which is about what I expect from a cherry hookah tobacco. The flavor is lacking and does not taste like cherry. It barely tasted like cough syrup.
This is a custom blend I designed that is two parts hazel nut, one part graham cracker, one part 7 spice and one part peanut butter. It smells like a spiced peanut butter cookie. It tastes much the same.
