Making Pork and Sauerkraut for our traditional New Years Day Dinner.

I must be half a sleep because I read this really fast and In my head it sounded like you were making Porn and sauerkraut, and my first thought was: "That would be a very stinky mix". LOL. I don't know where I come up with this crap but that's how my head works.

Recipe here: http://emerils.com/122684/turkey-bone-gumbo

I used a modified recipe from Food Network (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/turkey-bone-gumbo-recipe.html), didn't make the turkey stock (used chicken stock instead), and added more stock and more sausage (2 lbs. each of Turkey and Sausage).  I also forgot to put in the parsley and green onions, but those are really to make it prettier.

Ignore the times, this will easily take about 4 hours to make if you don't make the stock.  But you'll have enough, easily, for about 8-10 bowls of the stuff, probably more.

As much as I cook I can't believe I haven't posted on here more often. Lol. I decided to start watching Mad Men and it only took me two full weeks to finish all seven seasons. Wow what an awesome show. Anyway, during season seven when don draper was hanging out in LA, he went to a party where they were smoking hookah and I got very excited to see it on TV. So of course I had to take some screenshots and post them on here.

I don't have an epic meal to post, but enjoying a big bowl of fancy black seedless grapes during my smoke session today!  Too bad I don't have any grape to smoke along with it.

Sunday we went to visit my sister in Maryland and we stopped st this awesome Mexican restaurant we always go to. I brought home 2lbs of pork cracklings and with half of them I made a Dominican dish called mofongo. It consist of mashed plantains mixed with a butter and garlic sauce and chopped up pork cracklings. Totally delish and that was yesterday's dinner.

So today was a busy day. I took a 7lbs pork butt and deboned it to make pulled pork. Took the bone and made bone broth and used the skin to make pork cracklings.

Haven't posted much about food lately but this week I got a new air fryer and holy smokes this thing is awesome. I've done potatoes, steaks, fries, cheesecake and toast and eggs and all came out great!

This is my new go-to toy.
